FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS FOR PRIVATE CATAMARAN AND MOTOR YACHT BOAT TRIPS

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS FOR PRIVATE CATAMARAN AND MOTOR YACHT BOAT TRIPS

Can I bring my own food and drinks?
You can bring your own food and drinks but be aware that cooking and red wine onboard are not allowed. You can also have lunch in a restaurant in one of the islands (which must be booked in Advance) or we provide a catering service (Also booked in advance).

Is food or drinks included in the price of the boat trips?
No. It’s only included the Fuel, Skipper, Hostess, Snorkeling Equipment, 2 Paddle Boards and a courtesy Welcome Drink.

Is alcohol allowed on board?
Yes, but, for safety reasons, the consumption must be moderated. Red wine is not allowed on all our boats.

Can you provide a catering service?
Yes, we have a partnership with a local restaurant, and we can deliver a catering service to the boat during the day (Always ordered in advanced). The catering service, it’s based on Portuguese Local “Tapas/Snacks”, Salads and Poke Bowls. I will be able to send you the menu by email, right after the booking is confirmed.

Can we have lunch in a restaurant in one of the islands?
Yes, there are 2 really nice restaurants in the Islands that we generally recommend:

  1. Restaurante Estaminé – more fancy but with great views and great sea food –https://www.tripadvisor.pt/Restaurant_Review-g189116-d3384520-Reviews-Estamine_Restaurant-Faro_Faro_District_Algarve.html
  2. Restaurante À do Joao – more informal but with great fish and sea food too – https://www.tripadvisor.pt/Restaurant_Review-g3411485-d3407287-Reviews-Restaurante_A_do_Joao-Ilha_Do_Farol_Faro_District_Algarve.html

Where are the trips made?
Our trips are made at the Ria Formosa Natural Park, which is known by its famous white sand desert islands and the wonderful channels where we will sail along and anchor in the bays, where you will be able to have a swim, snorkel and paddle board. Also, the protected waters make the Ria Formosa as a perfect place for a wonderful and relaxed day on a boat. The departure is from Faro Marina.

Can we go to Benagil Caves?
Although we also think that the Benagil Caves is a great place to visit, we will not be able to get there as it’s about 40 nautical miles from Faro and we would take about 4 hours just to get there.

What do I need to do to confirm a booking?
You can confirm your booking directly on our website and to do that you only need to pay a 50% deposit and the rest can be paid on the spot before boarding. Please note that reservation will only be confirmed after payment is made and that no pre-reservation was made.

What happens if it’s bad weather on the day?
If there is an official bad-weather warning issued by the local Capitania that prohibit us to go out or if there is constant and permanent rain forecasted for the day, we may cancel the boat trip. If this happens, we can reschedule or issue a full refund of the money paid.

During the Boat trip will there be any time for a swim?
Yes. We always plan some time to anchor in the bays, where you will be able to have a swim, snorkel and paddle board.

Will I get seasick?
As the boat trips are made inside the Ria Formosa Lagoon where there are no waves, it’s quite rare (if not inexistent) to have guests getting seasick. In case you are more sensible to this, we recommend seasick pills to be taken at least 2 hours before boarding on the boat. While on the boat our crew can also help you with some tricks that will help you.

Where is the meeting point?
The meeting point is at our office (ISea Yachting) at Faro Marina.
Clients shall show up about 15 to 30 minutes before the scheduled time, in order to arrange the last-minute details and meet your daily Skipper and Hostess.

Car Parking
There are plenty of places to park the car next to our office, but most of them are paid.

Boarding:
As you will notice, the Faro Marina is a small marina, and our yachts are too big to enter here. Therefore, the transfer to our yachts will be made from the marina with our smaller boats.

We recommend comfortable clothes, sports shoes and, for sunset tours, warmer clothes, although most of the nights are relatively warm. On the summer tours, bring your Bathing Suits, Beach Towels, Sunscreen and hats.

Experience:
The passengers do not need to have any sailing experience as the boat will be sailed by our skipper.

Children on Board:
Children of all ages are welcome. They may be requested to use a life jacket at all times if they are under 12 years old. Adults will be responsible for the children onboard.

Payments at the Office:
Payments at the office can be made by Credit Card (Visa, MasterCard, Maestro, Dinners, Display, MB) or in cash.
